Of RomComs
and Student-Teacher Relationship Films
*may contain spoilers*
The film is about newlyweds Rachel (Piper Perabo) and Heck (Matthew Goode) who's been long time friends before tying the knot.
Rachel starts a friendship with the florist (which she met on her wedding day), Luce (Lena Headey), whom she plans to match with her husbands friend Cooper (Darren Boyd).
The movie starts with the love at first sight predestined love story but if you're a sucker romantic at heart who gushes on the merry course of love at first sight kind of theme then please ignore my rantings and skip to the next paragraph. ('Cause I find the love at first sight cliched whereas making this predictable. Maybe I don't believe in that kind of thing but if you're a sucker for romance you might like this.)

| One of my fave scenes was Rachel-Luce convo at the hills. |
This is a typical RomCom movie with a gay flair and a slight view on an untoward heartbreak -- the dilemma of choosing who you really love. And I say, she (Rachel) finds it in the end.
Then I got to several indie films of: Bloomington and Loving Annabelle. I'm not really interested in the controversial storyline of student-teacher relationships though I've seen a few like Tracy Flick on Election or Ezria (Ezra-Aria) in PLL (Pretty Little Liars) among others. But I was bored nonetheless and I just forced myself to watching 'em. Both films are well made and has this similar bittersweet ending. The only thing is that Loving Annabelle slightly wins by a margin; it has a great soundtrack plus the alternate ending makes up for that sad ending you get from the film. Still both are worth watching. One midnight, I set up a playlist that includes some of Up Dharma Down's Live Video Sessions of Tadhana + Oo and Indak, while I wait for my turn to use the PC since my Mom is busily chatting with my Dad on Facebook So the UDD song was playing and you would see Armi Millare, the short haired lead singer of the band singing and doing her thing. And my mom was like T-Bird ba yung kumakanta? And I was like I shot her back with a grimaced look and just said, Duh! Hindi! porket maikli ang buhok tomboy na?
True Story!
I believe, one's appearance doesn't define who you are as a person, because the way you look, your make-up or the clothes you wear is just a part of what you are like it is just another form of self-expression. The clothes you wear doesn't tell the whole story of who you really are nor signify what you are for that matter. Although, it can be somewhat be weighed based on our personality but then, likewise, a lot of people tend to be quick in judging and perceive instantly on what others look or how they dress. But then this people should also know that. . . appearances can be deceiving.Nuff said about that, maybe you're thinking, why in the world am I watching these kind of films? I think its for curiosity sake, and I don't mind because I don't want to be sheltered from reality. The truth is beauty. I want to be open to certain things and see how far I can muster and go with it. I also learn in the process and in knowing what I don't like to watch and which type of stories I prefer or dislike for that matter.
Seeing movies like this (I believe) doesn't make you any less straight or human whatsoever. Its like seeing art for what it is.
And I say, love is love -- no matter how you look at it.

Disclaimer: Don't put any labels when you're not sure what to stick in it. (I wanted to put one of those Carrie Bradshaw lines in the episode "Read Before Use" but I can't remember her exact lines in the series.)
