To tell you honestly, hearing the news about CPA made me alil bit anxious and cautious. I have my FB, I write on my blog, posts on twitter, download certain things illegaly and I also go to online forums and such. I'm not against the cybercrime law but one of the reasons I find it somehow questionable is the addition of libel in it.
I know, in some ways this law may push netizens to be responsible in what they are posting online. There are a lot of basher accounts that are scattered around cyberspace. Even fraud accounts are prevalent too. (I used to have one too a long long time ago). So what I'm saying is, the cybercrime law may seem too have some reasonable intentions but its contents may be lacking justification.
The internet is the most powerful tool we have for creating a more open and connected world. We can't let poorly thought out laws get in the way of the internet's development. Facebook opposes SOPA and PIPA, and we will continue to oppose any laws that will hurt the internet.
The world today needs political leaders who are pro-internet. We have been working with many of these folks for months on better alternatives to these current proposals. I encourage you to learn more about these issues and tell your congressmen that you want them to be pro-internet. -- Mark Zuckerberg
So if I have fake account before am I subjected to be put to jail too? I wonder... maybe without me knowing the NBI is privately reading this too. Since the CPA law allows the gov't to scrutinize the privacy of internet users; their accounts, private infos and internet usage.
So what now?
