The -ber month has started. Some say Christmas is near ahead?! Some people might be in the midst of preparing for that special holiday at this moment. Don't kid yourself, several nights ago I saw our neighbor already set up a big colorful 'parol' at their front lawn! (Ang agang Christmas spirit neto hehe) But 'nough said about Christmas, let's save those till December and not go back, but rather let's get Back to September instead...
September is sort of a special month for me, aside from various Music Titles (I hear Daughtry singing in the BG), friends birthdays and Mama Mary; what else could make this month abit more thrilling? I say...
What's so special with this blog entry anyway?
I'm very much known for melodrama writing (since I'm more comfortable about ache's, bittersweet sentiments and the tear-some battle of a flailing heart--To those who've read my former friendster Blog (which I transferred to wordpress recently), and to all those Poems I've shared online might actually know--My previous posts here have gone seriously dramatic (but that's more me actually teehee :D) with bits of candid lines poking here and there. Most of my poems are super melancholic, sappy and may tend to get overly boring and drastic??? at times.
So this time, I'm taking a 180 degree turn. Last week, I decided to post something I don't usually write about...(a four letter word that ends with a letter "E"!
But, then, there's really something about September that kind of made me re-think things through. I decided to delay these 3 pending entries (first, is on the verge of being scrapped out; second, I will only post once I got back to Manila; and third, I will post next once I finish the latter part of that entry. No it doesn't need another teaser to be posted at FB again hehe.)
So let's try that different twist shall we? Are you in for the ride with Bumblebee? Toycar? or even with Aling Fely? I'm a total-accident-prone-at-the-moment and lately I've bruised most of my fingers in my right hand (next week it'll probably progress at my other hand, haha kidding~)
Let's get back to that ride.
I remember earnestly eyeing the screen about that plane ride. The day was like any other day--I believe, except for one thing--10 years ago, no one saw it coming. Its one of those bizarre modes where you don't know exactly what to do. You can barely move; astounded by the extraordinary scenes flashing at the T V screen.
Today was the 10th year of the September 11 attacks. And this year, the leader of that masterplan was finally put to an end. Bin Laden's downfall was the gratifying aftermath for those 3,000 souls and their families.
Every series of untoward events in life: beyond the conflict, beyond the series of deaths, beyond the rampant protests in different countries in Asia, beyond religion, beyond economic crisis--every bit of these things in the life--what matters is, how you bounce back each time you crash. And speaking about bouncing back...
Ground Zero is in the process of re-building, "stronger than before...economically stronger... The skyline will be made whole again."
~R. Guiliani (Mayor, NYC) (2011)Remembering 9/11, reminds us of the tragedies and how conflicts within us humans emanates; This sets us to do better, to think and to place our points towards valuing humanity. So with the prospect of having a new model of the towers to be build again rather than to be reminded of the emotional weight it gives; the new building seems to give something to hope for.. With that, I can truly say..
All's well that ends well.
Disclaimer: The September 11 attacks that happened at the World Trade Center (WTC), is one of those ground-breaking events in our history. Whenever I read new infos about it, hear the life stories of the survivors and the farewell phone conversations; it gives life-changing impact to me. A crash like this can alter one's world, likewise when you crash and burn: every wall you put up topples down breaking every pieces of your being but also note that once the damage has been done; it may leave an imprint in your soul, your memory lest whatever the damage, every broken piece can still be put up; Re-build. Repaired. Healed.
Scars may leave a hole in the heart but you can always start over again.
Write your Next Chapter.
Note: Back to September is an allusion to a Taylor Swift song Back to December.
